Artist Statement

I am a Houston Native , San Antonio Creative. I dive into different mediums of art to express, each medium does what that the other can not. My work is a physical response to an emotional happening. I am interested in the psychological and metaphoric expressions of self-identity, the body, and individual history. I use personal, emotionally driven experiences and daily social interactions as the foundation from which my pieces derive. My artistic concentration includes photography, new media, poetic and performative works.  

Each aspect of my work is inspired by different muses. My photography work is fulled by my desire to tell a story, capture that moment, to see beauty in everything. My Performative works are very intimate expressions of emotional catharsis. I aim to draw the audience in and evoke an emotional experience. My poetic pieces are metaphoric expressions of my self awareness. My paintings are the worldview altered through my perception and lens. I am Trulei Versatile.
